Nişan Kurabiyeleri - Engagement Cookies

Seneee 2013, yani gene işsiz olduğum dönemlerden biri. 3 arkadaş (onlar da benim gibi işsizdi) bir araya geldik ve "Şu şeker hamurlu pasta ve kurabiye işine biz de girelim" dedik. O zamanlar yüksek lisansım dolayısıyla sık sık İstanbul'a gidiyordum. Eminönü'nden bütçemizin yettiği kadar pasta-kurabiye yapım malzemesi aldık ve başladık müşteri avına... O dönemlerde liseden bir arkadaşımızın nişanı olacaktı. Biz de dedik ki "Bir işe kalkıştık, ilk müşterimiz de sen ol. Gel senin nişan kurabiyelerini yapalım". Kabul etti sağ olsun. 

Mutfağa girdik ama biraz da tedirginiz... Acaba nasıl olacak? Ya kurabiyeler kırılırsa? Acemi şansı mıdır nedir neredeyse hiç fire vermeden tamamladık tüm kurabiyeleri. Hep birlikte yaptığımız ilk işti ve çok iyi bir iş çıkardık. Bir daha devamı gelmedi ama olsun, zamanın ne getireceği hiç belli olmaz. Belki ilerleyen yıllarda farklı projelerde tekrar bir araya geliriz :)

It was 2013. I was unemployed as it is now. There were two friends of mine who were also unemployed. We must have been so bored, we decided to begin to bake something with sugar paste. We thought that we could earn money from that. At that time, I was going to Istanbul every week due to my master courses. We put all our money to buy baking materials at Eminonu. Then we started to search for customers to sell our products. Luckily, a friend of ours from high school was going to engage. We told her "Hey, we are planning to start a business. Let us make your engagement cookies and you will be our first customer" and thanks to her, she replied "Yes". 

We entered to the kitchen with confidence and a little bit concern. We have all these questions in our minds: "What if we can not do it?", "What if cookies are broken?" etc. I think we had the beginner's luck because we hardly lost any cookies. It was the first business that we did together and we did it very well. We never had the chance to continue but you will never know. Maybe someday we will make a business together :)
