Bu sabah iş ve yüksek lisans arkadaşım Damla'dan çok güzel bir haber aldım. Merakla beklediğimiz İpekcik sonunda geliyormuş. Bu nedenle bugün sizlerle Damla için yaptığım pastaları paylaşmak istedim.
Damla aramızdan ayrılmadan önce TRUP İSG ekibi olarak, Damla için Güle Güle, bebek içinse Hoş Geldin niteliğinde olacak bir sürpriz yapmak istedik. Acemiliğimi atlatmak için elimden geldiği kadar çok pasta yapmam gerektiğini düşündüğümden, bunu kendim için bir fırsat bilerek "Pastaları ben yaparım" dedim.
Bir gece önce sıvadım kollarımı ve mutfağa girdim. İlk başladığımda aklımda pastayı nasıl süsleyeceğime dair hiçbir fikrim yoktu. Tek amacım kısıtlı zamanımda elimdeki malzemeleri kullanarak en iyisini yapabilmekti. Bir yandan da farklı şeyler deneme isteğime engel olamadım ve her zamankinden daha farklı bir tarifle krema yaptım. Yapılan her şey bir tecrübedir, o gün öğrendim ki zaman kısıtlıysa riske girmemek ve bildiğinden şaşmamak lazımmış. Ama annesinin kızı ben bir şekilde toparladım ve görmüş olduğunuz pastaları yaptım.
Bu pastalarda tam olarak anlamadığımdan ötürü becerememiş olsam da, patchwork kalıplarının nasıl kullanıldığını öğrendim.
Bir süre sonra, Damla hazırlandığı bebek partisi için bir pasta yapar mıyız diye sordu. Bu bana sorulur mu :) Topla gel malzemeleri, dedim. Uzun süredir görüşemeyen arkadaşların hem çenesi çalıştı hem de elleri. Belirtmek isterim ki minik ördek anne elinden çıktı.
Ertesi gün pastanın sergilendiği partiden geri dönüşler çok güzeldi. Tüm yorumlar ve teşekkürler beni çok mutlu etti.
Ekibimize bugün katılan İpek kuzusunu kucağıma almak için sabırsızlanıyorum...

I had the great news from my work and class-mate Damla this morning. Baby girl, İpek is coming today. Therefore I want to share the cakes that I had made for Damla.
Before Damla left TRU Project, we wanted to make a surprise for her as HSE Team. Our intension was to say "Goodbye" to the mommy and "Welcome" to the baby. I had to be more experienced at baking cake and dealing with fondant, so I told everybody "I will make the cakes".
The night before, I rolled my sleeves up and entered the kitchen. At the beginning I had no idea how to decorate the cakes. I just focused on finishing the cake on time and doing the best with the materials I had. However, I could not stop my desire to so experiment and I tried a different recipe for cake cream. At that night I learnt the hard way. Never take risk if you have limited time!!! Thankfully I did something and finished the cakes (I am my mother's daughter).
After a while, Damla called and asked me if I could made a cake for Baby Shower or not. Like I would say no... She came my home with all the necessaries. Since we hadn't seen each other for a long time, we talked more than we worked :) She did the little duckling, I did the rest and we finalized the cake with the baby İpek on it.
All the good comments and thanks I heard at the party made me so happy and proud.
I can not wait to hold little princess in my hands.
